Nour Al-Sharif to play the role of Yasser Arafat

Sharif

Prominent Egyptian actor Nour El Sharif has announced that he plans on presenting the life story of the late Palestinian President, whom he was very good friends with, in a new film. Nour revealed that he video taped the funeral ceremony held for the President in Egypt and Ramallah in order to use them in the film, which he will begin work on once the morning period is over.

According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, Nour stressed that he will seek a good scenarist to write the script of the film once he completes collecting all the needed research on the President's life. It was added that once a scenario is written he will move on to nominating stars from around the Arab world to take part in the film, which still has not found a source for funding it.

This is definitely a movie that I would be interested in watching.

I do not know if I would be able to take him seriously acting as Arafat. I saw him in a muselsel (Soap Opera) most recently that was very comedic. I forget the name of it, but it is the one where he goes through a midlife crisis and changes his looks to impress younger women, and I think his wife in the show is going through menapause. Funny funny show.

Well, Linda, Have you seen Yousef Shaheen's movie "Al Maseer" (the destiny). In the movie, Nur Al-Sharif played the role of the renowned Arab philosopher "Ibn Rushd". He was excellent!

I really can't think of a better Egyptian actor to play Arafat.

I am sure you are right. Unfortunately, the only thing I have seen him in is this soap opera and I think it has ruined it for me. But, if he is a great actor as everyone says he is, then i might be able to watch the mobie without being reminded of his character in this soap opera.
